Friends at Work

Omg, yesterday I was so happy. 

I had my last day at my current daycare center, as I'm going back to my old one. Well my friends, and someone who I didn't know even liked me, pitched in together and got me a going away gift and a card that had the sweetest words in it. They themed the gift bag to be pink, since it's my favorite color and a special interest of mine. Pink roses, pink bag, pink writing in the card, pink energy drink (I was drinking the same one that week). They got me a bag of candy and some Alani's in the Witches Brew flavor. It was totally a pink, halloween themed gift bag! 

I was so happy to see how much my friends cared about me and support me on my journey. I often struggle with the idea of friends, in more ways than one. But a big hindrance I have is believing people actually like me and want to befriend me. My mind chalks it up to them just being kind because we're at work, or them feeling bad for me, or just tolerating me. 

It was such a sweet and thoughtful gift. To see people put this much thought and effort and money into something...well they HAVE to like me then. 

Some of my kids' parents also got me gifts. I doubt myself as a teacher A LOT. But it's clear these parents and their kids love me, and I love them, too.
