With January coming to a close, and as a way to have that bit of accountability to stick to my reading goals, I figured I'd share the books I read each month as well as a little snippet of my thoughts on them! So far I've done pretty well, and I'm looking forward to reading more in the coming months. Here are the books I've finished this month:
The Left-Handed Booksellers of London by Garth Nix
I wanted to start off the year with the newest book from my favorite author. Definitely not disappointed in it. I thoroughly enjoyed it, and it reminded me a lot of his Old Kingdom series, which is a favorite of mine.
The Savior's Champion by Jenna Moreci
I got this one as a Christmas gift from a friend. Overall I felt like it was an alright read, though had a lot of focus on more adult themes which I didn't necessarily find had any benefit to the story. It has a sequel, though I'm unsure if I'll pick it up.
A Head Full of Ghosts by Paul Tremblay
I picked this one up after seeing it frequently recommended in horror book subreddits. I didn't really find it scary in the sense of "oh no I won't be able to sleep tonight," but it was genuinely unsettling at some points. I enjoyed it though, and I definitely plan on reading more books by Tremblay.
Edgewood by Karen McQuestion
I've had this book in my Kindle for a while now after getting it for free through Amazon a few years back. I wasn't too thrilled by this one. It just felt too cliché and didn't really bring anything new to the whole "teens get superpowers and are being chased by a shady organization" storyline.
