SUMMARY 2, CHAPTER 2.
TAPERS (thrompd.hinchy.co/tapers/)
Hello! My name is Peter/Dave/Hoonis, this is a summary of Chapter 2 of Tony Domenico's "Tapers". Tapers has strong themes such as, IMPLIED Pedophilia, Abduction, Strong themes, Murder, and the ending is disturbing. We start Chapter 2 off with a young, female child having a dream. The dream is described as a tunnel, and she was falling down it. She kept falling, until someone woke her up.
We can assume this person who woke the girl up is her mother, this is then proven by the fact that the girl calls the woman "Mom".
The girl gets out of bed and ends up falling down the stairs on her way down due to how dimly-lit the place is.
The mother reveals the child's name to be "Care", she tells Care to get up after she falls down the stairs which, Care does get up.
Her mother wants to talk to her before she heads to school, which Care does in a nervous sense (since this does not happen normally).
Care's mother and Care discuss what happened the prior day, Care being chased by her father (which, Care does not know that the man who chased her was her dad).
The mother wants Care to stay away from him, hide from him even. Both are unsure about this situation, which causes a slight silence between them, before Care is told to get ready for school.
Care expresses that her father was following her around with a video camera, to which her mother responds with, "Care," she began, pausing to think about what had just been said to her. "Really, I mean it. Hide."
The scene then switched to 2 chubby men sitting on a bench, specifically the school bench where Marvin usually sits, one reading a newspaper, the other asleep.
Marvin walks up to the bench and tries to not look disappointed that the bench is occupied, here we find out that Marvin is a fatphobic loser, often OBVIOUSLY making remarks in his head about them being fat(calling them "little fat men", etc).
Marvin, being fixated on the school gets in his thoughts, thinking about how the school was "filled to the brim with beautiful children", He thinks of all the things he could do with the children. He especially thinks of the girl he saw yesterday.
He wanted to talk to her, have a conversation with her, "and come over to her house. Then sleep next to her, forever.". Marvin obviously has thoughts of wanting to relive childhood, or be a little TOO close to a child.
His thoughts are interrupted by one of the men on the bench speaking to him. Marvin, being understandably nervous due to him not really speaking to people, The man tells him to get away from the bench which Marvin does so.
Marvin only really wants to wait for the kids to come out of the school, to which they do! Marvin doesn't pay attention to all the other kids, he only wants to see the young girl who stopped to look at him. He feels embarrassed from yesterday, feeling like it was too humiliating to go for a hug again, he needed to do something with the energy he had pent up inside of him.
The girl ends up stopping again, and noticing him, looking directly in his direction. The energy pent up inside of him eventually takes over, it makes him shake uncontrollably.
The man on the bench notices this, asking what was wrong with him, Marvin becomes defensive of this, which causes a slight argument to occur. Marvin ends up becoming the better person, and leaves the situation, waving off to the kids behind them as they cheer for him and wave back.
That one girl, never waved or cheered, she only stared at him for whatever reason she needed to. Marvin pondered about this, but without thinking, she ended up following him home.
The scene switches to Care's mother waiting for Care, the house being described in a horror-movie setting. Care's mom waits for Care, she waits for 15 minutes before Care finally comes into the house. She questions Care, asking her for the time, and assuming that something happened between her and "The Camera Monster" (her father). Care denies this accusation, causing a slight argumentation to occur between both of them.
In the end, Care ends up being sent to her room, while her mother mocks her.
