Opinion Piece: Best Disney Movie Starring Demi Lovato

Dear "Life as a Teenager" viewers,

By now you should know what today is; Opinion Piece Wednesday. And with Opinion Piece Wednesday comes the discussion of a controversial subject YOU want to hear about with a side of MY opinion tied into it. So what is this controversial subject you may ask? Well, I'm here today to discuss with you which Disney movie was the best one starring Demi Lovato.

In my opinion, I will proudly say that the BEST Disney movie starring Demi Lovato is ultimately The Princess Protection Program (2009). The movie stars BOTH Selena Gomez AND Demi Lovato, IN ONE MOVIE. Like what?!! It's totally crazy. Both actresses exhibit strong talents when entertaining their audience through movies and their music and just putting them together was probably the best choice Disney has made.

Now, for those of you who completely disagree and think that Camp Rock is the best Disney movie starring Demi Lovato, I will say I can see how you may think that but it's just NOT something that can be. I mean Camp Rock is yes, a movie with Demi Lovato as the lead, and yes a movie that allows us to see her talent through her singing but there's just no real meaning to it.

While the theme of Camp Rock may be a classic of rivalry, power, and being true to yourself, there is no character growth. In the Princess Protection Program, you can watch Rosie (Demi Lovato) progress from a young female who was dependent on those around her into a young woman who is independent and confident in who she is. Similarly, you can see a change in Carter (Selena Gomez) as her character starts off judgmental and selfish, but blossoms into being a kindhearted and strong woman.

So, in the end, the best movie starring Demi Lovato by Disney is hands down forever going to be the Princess Protection Program. Prove me wrong.

Until next time,

Viola Black

xoxo
