Alright this is part one of Jade ranting about bugs to anyone who will listen
So here's some swag-ass beetles for your viewing pleasure + what little info I can manage to scrape together about them since there are so many goddamn species of beetle and not enough wiki pages for all of them. (Image credits are listed at the bottom)
Chrysolina Americana, commonly known as a Rosemary Beetle!
These guys are so beautiful to me. The majority of the appeal of bugs for me is just how pretty they are. Like, nature MADE this!
These lovely lads are a species of leaf beetle (Family Chrysomelidae) which is only one of the some 200 families of beetle. They're native to Europe and Africa, sorry Americans.
Ok when I said some of these don't have wiki pages I specifically mean this little bastard. These are called Malaysian Rodalias, a species of ladybeetle, but I could not find any info about them anywhere. Anyway, I love how fuzzy they be.
At first when was looking for information about Malaysian Rodalias, I misidentified them as a different species of beetle. This is a Red Chilocorus! (or Chilocorus Circumdatus).
So essentially... just the same bug with a different texture pack.
And speaking of fuzzy friends, here's another
This blue beetle is a trichochrysea hirta, that's their scientific name. Like the Rosemary Beetle, they're a species of leaf beetle. Theyre native to Indonesia and southeast Asia.
Uh also shoutout to scarab beetles! Im too lazy to find pictures of them right now.
