autism & attendance (plus why i want oline schooling)

so to make this clear; i have autism, thus im a lot more likely to have attendance issues (which i do)

as much as i love school itz so hard for me 2 do & go 2. ive had problemz with m attendance for the last 2 yearz 4 various different reazuns. some of which being shutdownz, anxiety, pressure, demand issues, and especially executive dysfunction. my grandma doesnt understand how it workz, which sux & im gonna have a conversation w her about it but shez very strange about the reality of mental health.. ill upd8 tho on how that goez !! itz very hard 4 me to get accomodationz or 2 see a counselor becauze ive also got anxiety soo they kinda collide. i also dont technically have an official disagnosis ?? like my psychiatrist, who obv specializes in medz/diagnosis told me i have it + ive done hourz of my own research but itz not like a written thing.

a couple stats on this:

• children w special ed needz are 50% more likely to sturggle with attendance, 31% of autistic students consistantly miss school
• 92% of kids with attendance issuez are neurodivergent, and 83. of which have autism
• autistic children are estimated 2 miss 6 full dayz 4 every 20 (addz up 2 30% of the school year)

- parents of autistic children with attendace problems are also labeled as neglectful and are being fined, jailed, or put on truency. a lot of kids are in my situation of needing or wanting to be unenrolled due to this. therez No evidence showing that these finez improve attendance, but it does cause harm 2 familiez
