the gore/nsfw problem

not sure why people are so insistent on doing this over and over. there are only a few solutions i can think of, since this keeps happening and it's up to the (poor, unfortunate, heroic) mods to actually screen/delete this kind of content ...

1. if you're sensitive to gore/nsfw content, do not click on any profiles on the front of the new users page. most of these accounts get deleted after a time, so you're less likely to see them slightly farther back in the results
2. as a spacehey friend of mine suggested, remove the cool new people section of the front page with ublock origin! download the extension (i use it, it's legit,) click on it, click the gears icon in the popup and paste the following (without quotes) into your filters: "spacehey.com##.cool.new-people" the whole section will no longer appear on your front page, so you don't have to worry about seeing any potentially upsetting icons or accounts! for mobile users, i'm not certain about alternatives, if anyone knows pls comment
3. if you're NOT sensitive to this content, every so often, click through the newest profiles and report any offensive content you see to the spacehey mods. this is what i'm doing and it's usually pretty effective, but mods are people too and can't always respond right away
4. i've seen plenty of safety accounts and i'm thinking of making my own, just with some nice sensory imagery and relaxing music as a little space to bleach your brain. these are a pretty nice resource and i'm glad so many people on spacehey care enough about our little online community to make them! i will say, however, to make sure you go slightly farther back in the results before clicking any profiles, just in case.
5. please take a break from spacehey if you need to! it's not worth sticking around if it's truly damaging to your mental health. if this is your main form of communication with online friends, maybe just stick to DMs for a while?

if anyone has any other ideas for ways to manage this pls comment! it could be really useful to someone who needs it. i'm going to continue seeking out and blocking these accounts whenever i refresh my homepage and i hope people who are similarly desensitized can do the same!
