Who is my favorite character and why are they the best one ?

My favorite character is definitly Lain Iwakura from the anime Serial Experiments Lain. She is a young adolescent living in a futuristic year 2000 where technology and something called the Wired are really popular among the youngest. She also gets addicted and throughout the anime, the lines between real life and the Wired become more and more blurry as she gets literally inside the Wired. She spends everyday in her room and becomes "the god" of the Wired, she knows everything about anyone, she can go anywhere through the Wired. 

Eventually, she meets the original god of the Wired and replaces him, as the concepts of god became even more blurry, the original man was not relevant anymore. The end of the anime is messier and messier as Lain's parents disappear as if they never existed. Some theories say that they were never there and that Lain finally discovered the real world through the Wired. In the very end, it is Lain herself who ends up disappearing, as if she were absorbed by who she was in the Wired. 

I really like her because I could sometimes relate to her as I spend hours on the Internet trying to meet new people, but other than that, I just think she is really cool and the psychological atmosphere of the anime makes me like her even more.
