Ghost @ John Cain 2023-10-04

Just got back from seeing Ghost! I really liked them back in 2018 (listened to a lot of BÖC as well) but hadn't listened to them recently. I was a bit apprehensive about buying tickets initially but my sister and I scored some discounted floor tickets and oh boy, I'm glad I went.

I don't listen to a lot of arena rock style music but being in that environment and seeing it live was super cool. Their stage set and the costumes were also amazing, the pope outfit he had on during Call Me Little Sunshine was super sparkly and gorgeous. The light show complemented the music really well (my last gig at Napalm Death I kept having this one light go directly in my eye so this light show was far more enjoyable), particularly in Year Zero where everything was red and ominous and Dance Macabre where all the lights were RAINBOW.

Now that was all well and good but the REAL highlight of the show was the guy I was standing next to. He was pretty good looking, I came up to his shoulder so he was comfortably tall, and smelled nice (it doesn't get any better from here, leave while you still can) and wasn't overly rowdy or pushy which is always a plus. Basically he was this stoic hot guy that got into a few songs every now and again and I was IN LOVE. He had nice forearms also. ANYWAY if I don't come off as touch starved already let me tell you, we weren't standing close at all at first but about halfway through (thanks to the very enthusiastic girl that kept stepping on me) we ended up next to each other and eventually kept brushing shoulders and I MELTED. I felt like I was in a bad fan fiction. Anyway I was gonna say something to him after the show (I don't know what lol) but HE DISAPPEARED BEFORE THE SHOW FINISHED ;-; maybe it wasn't meant to be :( REGARDLESS I had quite a fun night.
