The "Peanut Butter" ATM

Yesterday I was downtown tabling for the LWV (league of women's voters) and was getting kinda hungry so I went to go get some lunch nearby. I stumbled across a ATM which what looked like peanuts butter was smeared all over it, but to be perfectly honest, I wouldn't be surprised if it was shit. My question is how it got there, was some dudes hands were so disgusting and vile that the "stuff" on it smeared all over the ATM.
