passports and concerts

so, recently, ive been eyeing the lil kmfdm concert in hungary cuz APPARENTLY all the other concerts got cancelled..??? (what the fuck) AND i live rreeeeaally close to hungary (i can walk to the damn border) so i wanna go. 

problem: my passport expired a YEAR AGO and my parents have not taken me to renew it despite them going on all these funky trips to turkey, the uk, germany, shabadabadingdong

now, they’re saying they’re tight on money, and I get that, i do. we’ve been pretty damn poooor for as long as i can remember which is fine, im not complaining but i get paid by the government to have good grades. i could literally pay the entire trip to hungary, the rovinieta, gas, AND entry + passport renewal. yet my moms damn pride wont allow it

passport renewal in romania is aabbouuutt 14 days so time is tight but not impossible; now, something else is the fact that i have been bugging my ma about renewing my passport since LAST YEAR; i even had an outer country school trip that i couldn’t go to because my ma kept on saying that “we’re gonna renew it, don’t worry, we’ll renew it” come A DAY before the school trip she yells at me about how i NEEVVERRR told her that my passport expired (yeah i fuckin did; FUCK) so euggg

am i in the wrong? should i lower my expectations? am i acting like a spoiled brat? and why the fuck do passports take so long to renew?
