Distro hopping and the potential end of it(?)

Hey everyone,

So I've recently gotten into Linux and set up my first Linux distro: Ubuntu. I wanted to experiment with some other distros (notably Arch, though I don't actually understand it), but Ubuntu seemed simple enough. I then found out that Ubuntu was actually not the greatest distro apparently? I'm still a bit confused as to why it's hated now? Either way, I decided to switch to Linux Mint, which I actually really enjoyed. But I grew kinda nostalgic to GNOME & Ubuntu, so I set up Pop!_OS. It ran... alright? I ran all these distros on my stinky DELL gaming laptop, and when I installed Pop!, the fan started going like crazy. I thought this was a one time thing, but no. I recently decided to reinstall Mint and that I'll try to stick to it for as long as possible.

Thx for reading :P
