sparkstember 2023 day 28

annette!!!

as you may have noticed, i switched up the order of the sparks brothers and annette according to the sparkstember 2023 list by accident, but i was recently informed that the sparks brothers was released prior to annette, so it is not my fault. annette was actually really beautiful and soooo sparkscore. yk of course a movie by sparks is going to be sparkscore and i actually love how they weren't idk swindled by the industry to make it more palatable to a wider audience, however i think more people will like it if they saw it (yk if they aren't a musical hating DWEEB because this is almost entirely sung through). there are many tracks, so of course i will not be covering all of them, however i enjoyed every moment of this 2hr long unlimited edition album. it was a lot to listen to and process because i had to process the plot along with the music itself to figure out what was going on and also try so very hard not to laugh laugh laugh at adam driver singing. also i did have a mental breakdown about him flipping the motocycle helmet visor down in the trailer. got possessed by brittany broski sorry it will happen again

faves: we love annette! (BON VOYAAAAGE BON VOYAAGE!!! OUUUUUUGH I LOVE BON VOYAGE THANK YOU SPARKS FOR BRINGING IT BACK... also i love my pilots hehehehe), you used to laugh (two straight minutes of adam driver screaming "fuck you"... Yeah. i'm normal. AND THE DEMO VERSION TOO), so may we start (sp..arsk), six women have come forward (angèle!!!!! aaaaaaa!!!!!), lalalala (just beautiful), murder of a conductor (i'm really normal), laugh, laugh, laugh (a and b) (WOOOO SPARKS REFERENCE AGAIN!!! rock rock rock don't leave me don't leave me don't leave me don't leave me...) all the girls (I SAID I'M NORMAL.), he is a murderer (daddy... daddy kills people), abyss intro and sympathy for the abyss (i love how annette's like "no... no you don't. you kinda suck daddy. and now you can't hurt me."), ok, ready, laugh (it's so beautifully written for just being like 30 seconds), upstaged (demo) (actually crazy awesome), literally all the songs are so good woop woop!

this cover is actually so beautiful... like.... wow. that is adam driver. you are so right. just so gorgeous. both the cannes edition and the more pared down, darker unlimited edition. i love let's waltz in the storm and this is exactly how i imagined it. beautiful
