Rescuing old tech from my school's ewaste pile

Me and my roommate have been rescuing, fixing up, and archiving old data from computers and machines that my university has been throwing out. Thought I would share with my favorite retro tech social media site :)

EDIT 7-9-2025: Sadly it looks like many of my images have died to discord's cdn changes. I'll get those updated, but in the meantime, check out this server that we assembled with a few HP Elitebooks, network switches, and routers we found in the trash!

this windows vista era tablet PC is awesome and currently set up with a proxy to theoldnet.com to only load versions of websites from 2007 (also used almost exclusively to play purble place and doom)

another cool tablet PC, it also has a cool dock that's not out currently because it's broken, this one is fun to play old games on and also works with a huion drawing tablet pen

here's my atomic purple gameboys! i gotta get a new screen for the pocket but they both work great. I use an ezflash junior flashcart with them. 

I also have 2 modded GBAs and a link cable for epic multiplayer mario action (peep the floppy disc for a cool word processor that was also in the trash)

I also have my padded case that I keep my other gameboys in, here is my DMG that i use for chiptune production and my ds lite "gameboy macro" mod that I use for pokemon leafgreen

not pictured is a pink and white GBC that I have some pictures of on my profile! (the game in there is hamtaro ham ham's unite) 

and of course there's the Nintendo 64, loaded with a bunch of roms! we've been playing portal64 a lot recently :)) and the CRT was also from the trash!!! we tried getting a smaller one, but it was broken sadly. it had a very cool design, I'll update this blog if I can get a picture of it
