HOW 2 MAKE UR PC LOOK LIKE OLD WINDOWS

so last night i got pretty fucking angry about windows 11 again (i hate flat "modern" design with a passion) and went down a googling spree to figure out how to make it look like older versions of windows. i'd googled and looked around before, maybe a year ago? and all i could find was either using paid programs or seemed pretty involved/complicated (i have very little actual technical knowledge. i'm just good at the pirating thing.)

but this time i found something really cool! a youtuber by the name of CyberCPU Tech has made several videos on customizing any modern version of windows to take on the look of past versions. i followed his tutorial on making windows 11 look like windows xp (linked here) very loosely to achieve a windows vista look.

basically what i did was install retrobar and openshell and set them up as he explains in the video, but choosing the options to make it resemble vista instead of xp. it is genuinely a very easy process. i havent messed with the icons but i will pretty soon, as it is kind of jarring to have my pc look halfway between vista and 11 lol

here's a look at how my desktop looks now! (i have it set to rotate between a couple background designs, the one it's on right now is Mekkanikka by designum on dA)

pretty cool, huh?! at a glance, you wouldn't even think it's windows 11!! i'm super happy with this!
