This is important.
I just got this great idea that seems to really help me. You see you may not know this but I battle depression.
So I decided to imaging I was telling a therapist my reasons for why I have had depression recently. Just put it all out there for him (in my case I imagine a him). This therapist I imagined I had never met. Then imagining I was the therapist and I was listing to all of this from the client and how I would respond. It was quit different to imagine I was giving advice to a stranger instead of myself. In my head I started rambling on advice for this client. It seems like doing this exercise which gives a different perspective actually works a lot better then just regular self talk to try to convince myself I will be happy.
