omg so me and my friend watched Heathers today and it was so gooddddd, i loved it BUT HUH

I DID NOT EXPECT JD TO BE LIKE THAT?????

i hadnt consumed any heathers (1989) media until today so i didnt even know what it was about so that added to the shock of things but like my main question is 

WHY ARE PEOPLE DEFENDING JD??

I get the whole murder thing cuz like its obv a movie and most people are cool with fictional murderers (including me) BUT WHAT I DONT GET IS THAT HES ABUSIVE???

I saw people talking about how like he actually loved veronica cuz he was sad when he saw her pull a sayori but personally i think since he was there to off her himself, that he was just like upset that he had no control of the situation and that she did it by choice instead of him doing it for her
