Finished Piercing today
man that last chapter was pretty hair raising ngl, it really almost stopped me from finishing up the book
i didnt expect too much of a suspenseful book considering i didn't think In The Miso Soup was too suspenseful/scary when i first read it but holy shit that was my downfall there
this gruesome work came before In The Miso Soup so maybe his earlier works are this crazy, but man, i look forward to reading his other works when i can get my hands on them
do i recommend this one? i honestly dont think so, unless you have a pretty strong stomach (this book comes with a plethora of warnings, please look them up beforehand) + a pretty stubborn attention span. despite being a short read, it has an extremely long build up period before getting to the climax, and the ending may feel abrupt or unsatisfying depending on how you see it
if these are things that aren't something you can handle, i recommend In The Miso Soup instead (of course, this one also has warnings with it, please read them beforehand)
