Life Update!

Long time no see :) I've had a lot going on in the past month, lemme fill y'all in!

So, my new job's been going pretty well, I like everyone I work with, and I'm not completely beat after an eight-hour shift like I would have been in the past. I was even able to go to a festival after work, and even after that I still have energy to do stuff!
I did have a nasty interaction with an older white lady though. After I rang her up, she tried to quick-change (for those not in the know: it's a type of scam commonly executed in grocery stores) me for an extra $20, and when I refused, she thanked me for my "attitude" (I was very nice to her!) called me a bitch, and quite literally ran away. She was just embarrassed that she got caught :P
My managers checked the register audit to be sure, and of course, I did the right thing. This woman is apparently a part of a group targeting my workplace, and they always go after new people with the same ol' shtick. Unfortunately for her, I wasn't born yesterday :) how pathetic for her, to be in your 50's scamming people because you're too stupid to be able to maintain an actual job lol.

On another note, I'm absolutely loving my new place! My new room (the first in many years of sleeping in living rooms), is so spacious! It even has a lock on the door, which is nice :) yay privacy! It's an absolute mess right now, but it's mine. I'm also saving up for a nice new desk from Ikea! I've never owned a piece of Ikea furniture before, so I'm kinda excited! When you get to my age and start living in the real world, formerly mundane things such as sales, new furniture, cooking utensils, and even a new pair of socks are pretty exciting! (especially when the cookware and socks are gifts!) It sounds lame I know, but y'all will get it when you're older.
Every night, I browse Pinterest and Etsy for room inspo. I'm trying to create my own aesthetic for my room, since I haven't really done anything like that before. When I was younger, I just kinda...threw whatever shitty poster or painting I had up on the wall with no theme in mind. My childhood bedroom still has an Elsa poster on the wall, and I moved out when I was 18. Thank god I never had anyone over O_O
Anyway. I'm going for a whimsigoth x cybercore aesthetic for my new room. As for the palette, I'm going to stick to black, blue and some green, with little splashes of reds, yellows, and purple colors. Sort of like...the colors of the solar system? I guess? I know that sounds dumb, but I don't know how else I can articulate what I'm trying to convey. It'll be fun :)

Lastly, because I know this blog is LOOOOOONG as fuck, I'm finally going to college after taking a gap year! I'm so excited, I'm going to make some calls on Monday to see how I can get some grants or scholarships to cover tuition. I'm planning to major in Cybersecurity :) I've always loved working with computers, and to be able to make a decent living off of what I love is a dream. I hope everything goes well!!
