Journal Entry #72: 09/15/23 - This Week Wasn't as Hellish as I Thought

Yeah, aha, ha.

Alright, rundown time!

On Sunday it was my ex's (don't like to call him that) birthday, so I sent him a text and checked up on him. We actually had a pretty nice conversation, even though we did break up on good(ish) terms. I do miss him, but I think I may miss him more as a friend than as a boyfriend. I could tell through his hesitancy with texting that he may have had more to say to me. We may need extra closure, but I'm not sure if we're gonna get it. Hours after our brief conversation ended, all those feelings came back. Ugh. Maybe it was love. I had a hard time thinking straight for the rest of the day. Thankfully, the feelings did not come back on Monday. My mind knows what my heart doesn't: we simply weren't compatible; our values were not aligned.

My first exam was history, and boy, was it easy. Most of the questions were recycled from quizzes from a few weeks ago. I'm glad that my history class is on the 'chill' side, but all we do in there is listen to lectures, take notes, do quizzes, and then take an occasional exam. It's just gotten a little boring, that's all. I haven't gotten the results for my history exam yet, which is funny because the exam was online and all multiple choice, meaning it was auto-graded.

On Tuesday, I had both my calculus I and bio exams. Calculus was hard, I'll admit it. There were two questions (out of seven) that tripped me up. My professor said he'll give some credit for trying, but he also said he's a tough grader. Oh dear. Well, regardless of what my grade turns out to be, I'm probably going to go to supplemental instruction and get some tutoring. My bio exam was better(?). It was difficult answering all the questions, but I made an 87 (however, I did do some extra credit stuff, so it's inflated by some points). The class average for bio was a 73, which made me think I did bad, but I didn't (clearly)!

Wednesday was pretty chill. Most of my classes were canceled, save for my biology lab. I went to this campus event to unwind a little, meet with some new people, and reconnect with some familiar ones. It's just, so weird though. I can do fun stuff in the middle of the day and then realize "damn I got a lab in a few hours". It's just so silly to me lol

Thursday was also chill, another one of my classes was canceled. Nelward posted a new single, Sadboi. It's so good! Despite being about depression, the bpm is super high, and it's a good bop despite the downer lyrics. The guitar is super-duper good, and so are the rhythms. Keep it up Nelward!

Today is going to be a race to finish my work before the homecoming parade today at 6. I wanna go, but I'd like to finish my work first! Tomorrow is game day and my family's visiting. I'm extremely excited to see them again! I almost forgot what my parents look like! :0

Can't wait to see what the weekend has in store.
