The shift in the seasons

I can feel the chill in the air. I can feel the slight tilt of the Earth. The memories are coming back in waves. Very specific sensations, associations, the dots being connected in my mind. The smell of decaying leaves causes so many other neurons to fire.

And yet... I can't help but think of how it used to get this cold much sooner in the month.

It may be getting cold, but nowhere near as cold as it used to be.

They tell us that global warming isn't real because it's cold sometimes.

But how cold did it used to be?
