the wattpader's plight

I have literally no motivation or ideas for creating new fanfics (I usually write about Danger Days lmao) but nobody whatsoever cares about my original works. Like actually no one. Whenever I post them they flop immediately regardless of how much effort I put in. 

Which I guess makes sense cuz I usually post on wattpad, and we all know 90% of their userbase is just there to read abt their favorite homosexuals. I still like writing fanfiction but I want to branch out and try other things. Also, I feel like i've exhausted just about every trope and topic in the book so making more fics will just bore the fuck out of me. 

Then again, I want to prove to myself that I can do better, because I cringe my spine out of my body every time I try to read my own writing. Maybe that's a principle, I always find my own fanfics absolutely awful after the fact and pick them to shreds. 

(Normalize unapologetic self-expression, being so passionate about a work of media that you're inspired to create your own art is a beautiful thing that we should encourage, cringe culture is dead, but that's a topic for another day)
