With 49 days till Halloween, I wanted to honor spooky season with a curated list of a few of my childhood favorite Halloween animated movies 🦇

While horror films are amazing to watch in the fall, sometimes it is best to watch a film that is less spooky and more spectacular. 

• Scary Godmother Halloween Spooktakular (2003) 48 min.

Plot Synopsis: Hannah-Marie's Halloween is off to a spooky start, with costumes and candy and scary stories from her cousin Jimmy. But when Jimmy and his friends frighten her to tears, can her Scary Godmother set things right?

• Scary Godmother: Revenge Of Jimmy (2005) 44 min

Plot Synopsis: Hannah must stop Jimmy from erasing Halloween from the calendar for good. Scary Godmother prepares for Halloween, but with disastrous results.

Why should you watch:

Both Scary Godmother Spooktakular and The Revenge of Jimmy was not only endearing, but heartwarming as well due to the overarching message that friends and family were the most important during the holidays. There were valuable lessons of not judging others by their appearance and getting to know one another and the importance of not bullying others and forgiveness.  

• Scooby-Doo! and the Witch's Ghost (1999) 1hr,6 min

Plot Synopsis: The gang meet a horror writer who invites them to go back to his hometown for the Autumn Fest, where they learn that one of the writers ancestors was a witch who is apparently haunting the city.

Why should you watch:

I highly recommend watching due to the soundtrack featuring music from the Hex Girls alone — BUT the storyline and animation is amazing too.
