There's meaning behind every bit of this skin art. The conceptual design was a bit hard for the tattooist to follow but I can explain every piece etched into my skin.
The knotwork will be added in blue, red, and forest green, next year when I return to Long Beach, while my friend, and my husband both get theirs at the same parlor.
The runes, Elder Futhark, honoring my path of faith following the Norse pantheon but holding true to my belief that all religion should welcome any that wishes to learn and understand the past as well as applying the old teachings of the Hávamál to their daily life.
The lotus flower, a symbol of rebirth, transformation, and the life cycle of constant change. To me it is also a symbol of immortality.
The wolf, my husbands spirit animal.
The raven, my sons spirit animal.
The stylized dragon, the core of who I am, courage, strength, and a force to be reckoned with when disturbed heedlessly.

I'm just noticing my own weight change too. I've lost so much weight in the last year with changing my diet and my daily physical habits. I'm really proud to say I'm down in weight from 235, to 200, progress towards my 195 lbs goal weight.
