[ANIMAL OF THE WEEK] Pudu

This week's animal of the week is the Pudu! Native to South America, they are the world's smallest true deer and are also known as the Chilean mountain goat. Two species of pudu are recognized, the Southern pudu (Pudu puda) and the Northern pudu (Pudu mephistophiles)! They live in the temperate rainforests and Andes mountains of South America. They are solitary animals and crepuscular. Pudus are most active in the morning, late afternoon, and evening.
