spooky season is right around the corner! heres some classic horror recs to

get you in the right mood! feel free to comment any more if you have any <3

1.) hellraiser (1987 - clive barker)

a woman discovers the newly resurrected, partially formed, body of her brother

in law. she starts killing for him to revitalise his body so he can escape the demonic

beings that are pursuing him after he escaped their sadistic underworld.

2.) a nightmare on elm street (1984 - wes craven)

a young girl realises that she must stay awake at any cost to avoid a clawed killer

who wants to murder her and her friends one by one through their dreams 

.3.) saw (2004 - james wan)

two men awaken to find themselves on the opposite sides of a dead body, each with

specific instructions to kill the other or face consequences. these two are the latest

victims of the jigsaw killer.

4.) videodrome (1983 - david cronenberg)

when a tv presenter happens upon "videodrome," a tv show dedicated to torture and

punishment, he sees a potential hit and broadcasts the show on his channel. however,

after his girlfriend auditions for the show and never returns, max investigates the truth

behind the show. 

5.) terrifier (2018 - damien leone)

a crazed, bloodthirsty killer clown makes a gruesome atetempt to try murder

three women on a halloween night in an abandoned apartment.

6.) house of 1000 corpses (2003 -  rob zombie)

an empty fuel tank and a flat tire lead two couples down a terror-riddled road to the house of 1000 corpses - a cast of twisted individuals who, with each slash of a throat or stab through the chest, add bodies to their sick human menagerie

7.) scream (1996 - wes craven)

a year after sidneys mom is murdered, more murders start to occur. she begins to suspect if these murders are related and tries to find the killer as everyone seems to be a suspect.

8.) the silence of the lambs (1991 - jonathan demme)

clarice starling, an fbi agent, seeks help from hannibal lecter, a psychopathic serial killer and former psychiatrist, in order to apprehend another serial killer who has been claiming female victims. 

9.) childs play (1988 - tom holland)

karen buys her son andy a sought-after doll for his birthday and andy names it chucky. things take a turn for the worse when he discovers that chucky is possessed by the spirit of a serial killer.

10.) halloween (1978 - john carpenter)

21-year-old michael myers steals a car and escapes smiths grove. he returns to his quiet hometown of haddonfield, illinois, where he looks for his next victims.
