It only seems like yesterday

I was an infant in my mothers arms,
I cried and fed but slept so little,
No-one could resist my goo-goo charms,
But the security of my parents were vital.

I was a child alone with trees as my playground,
They were climbed and the branches were formed into bows,
Arrows flew straight and true, by twine they were bound,
Destiny had given me this life, but it is the life I chose.

I was a teen with a troubled mind,
Society was not a reason to blame,
Apart from family, no-one seemed kind,
And every day turned out the same.

I was a young man, a philosopher, a poet in training,
And still the troubled teen resided inside,
He made the young man question his true meaning,
But he prayed and hoped that someone would send him a guide.

I am a man with life and love, content to the core,
My world is happiness and this is how it will stay,
The infant, child, teen and young man are no more,
But it only seemed like yesturday
