job promotion? yes

good response from former professor(s) about a letter for recommendation? yes

possible position as a research assistant opening up moment by moment? oh yeah baby

all i need to do is get my ass in gear and actually do my homework.

i am honestly excited about the job promotion for two reasons: a, it is the first one i have gotten in my life, and i know i have almost been given a promotion in a couple of my prior jobs but i left early. b, i can avoid the call center now and just work at the walk-up location(s). of course, not always, but i will certainly try to work walk-up as much as possible cos i hate the phone system very much.

one of my professors responded to my request of a letter of recommendation rather humbly, saying he'll gladly do so but with the warning that he is not a permanent member of the university, but rather a scientific partner. the hard part was how to respond to that in a proper manner without simply saying "yeah man, that's cool still. that doesn't matter, really." figured it out in the end thanks to some help. cool guy, though.

after a week of crafting my introduction letter to one of my professors that is looking for research assistants, he responded with "hey man let's chat, after class work fine?" "sorry dr. but i got a class after, can i come in before?" "yeah sure, see ya then." is it just that easy to move up in the world?

my prospects are better than 1849.

i think i will buy starfield tonight... as celebration, of course haha.
