While I whine like a bastard

If everyone else can do it

Why can't I?

Bring it back to the basics

Break my back like it makes sense

Nobody knows at first

Until the dam bursts

17 years for a disappoining ending

Nothing can pierce the membrane

Before the flood 

forget what could have been without your desperation

and without my exasperation

If it all falls apart

just bring it back to the start

A disappoining ending cancels out the beginning

but I just keep forgetting

Aren't I too young?

For a funeral hymn to be sung?
