This was initially a bulletin, but I decided to make it a blog post as well to continually update.

Trying to get back into making comics... It's been over 3 years since I made the first issue of Maddi and I think I'm way overdue to continue work on issue 2.

It's so hard with my schedule to dedicate time to something like this, but I have the whole second issue scripted out, with covers, promo art, and even some progress on the first page.

I have been so critical of Maddi since I finished the first issue, I keep telling myself to lean away from being derivative..... I think I just need to lean into it and make the second issue for myself and not worry so much about it.

I have no idea when I'll get it done, it's going to rely entirely on my mental, physical, and financial well-being.. but I think if I don't have a long-term personal creative pursuit, I'll lose my mind.

The plan is to have Issue 2 be a full 16 pages with a more in-depth story to tell. As well as more polished artwork and presentation. The first issue was a bit rushed to meet a fast-approaching deadline, which should not be a problem for issue 2.

It's not allowed on webtoon because of its graphic content, so it will be hosted here alongside the first issue: maddicomic.dev

I have been pretty motivated to continue the story recently. I still think the first issue is really rushed. Not only was it for a final deadline, but I also initially wanted to make physicals.

However, most publishers found it to be too short and amateur even for a limited release. (Not to mention just finding publishers who were down with the aesthetics of the whole thing was really difficult.)

I'm hoping I can make the second issue much more focused and try to repitch the idea.
