Class work - Cable vs Wifi and DSL

DSL, better known as dial up, is an antiquated technology used to connect users to the internet using telephone lines. It is the slowest way to connect to the internet and has a maximum speed of 56kbp/s. The telephone cannot be used for calls at the same time while the user is connected to the internet.

Cable is the fastest out of DSL and WiFi as a cabled connection means the computer is connected directly to the router which means there is no ping. It has a download speed of up to 500mbp/s.

Wifi has a maximum download speed of 300mbp/s.

The newest technology is fibre, which is still being rolled out across the UK. It has download speeds of up to up to 1000mbps.
