basically the puritans were really silly and were like "mannnnn we love god we dont even celebrate christmas bc god never even told us to celebrate... we gotta convert the masses we gotta be pure and shit because god will love us and then we can make new england and it will be a puritan haven #lovegod" and society just looked past that (probably bc the people from spain were being evil asl)

also noneof this is confirmed fact i'm just guessing from what i remember from my lecture from literlly 12 hours ago im losing it !!! also indentured servitude was evil and people were literally forced into it bc theirf families were too poor to support them so people sent them to virginia and these people basicallt all died (truth)
