My Top 10 Spotify Artists of August

Woohoo another month down. I'm back in college now so I'll probably be listening to even more music now bc I love music when I study and work on homework. For now, though, it's my August breakdown according to Spotify. WE'RE COUNTING DOWN!

#10 Ella Mai

I love Ella Mai! I've been obsessed with her music since Boo'd Up came out (one of the best songs of 2018 btw). I'm not actually sure when I listened to her enough this month to get her into the top 10 but I'm definitely happy to give her a shout out. She's great!

#9 Taeyeon

My queen my goddess! She's just incredible. I put Why as the album cover because I know thats the album that I've been listening to a ton. This album is a summer ESSENTIAL for me every year until I die. Just perfect vibes.

#8 Beabadoobee

Beatopia is very much a sleep album for me but also just a chilling album. A go-to for sure! My favorite song of hers is Pictures of Us.. so good.

#7 tripleS

RAAH Capitalism! Lol but seriously Girls Capitalism is such a fun song. The whole album is good. I don't fully stan TripleS. I only know the ones that were on queendom puzzle + my bias Chaeyeon. I should stan them for realsies though. 

#6 The Weakerthans

My autism tends to latch on to certain songs and play them on repeat.. my one of the month was Sun in an Empty Room by The Weakerthans. It scratches something for me right now but I know I'll play it out soon haha. Anyway it's a nice little band.

#5 Carly Rae Jepsen

CRJ my beloved! Go listen to the Loveliest Time. I've been listening to it all month. Just in general I think she's the queen of pop music and I've loved all her stuff for years. It's a crime that she's not one of the top pop stars of our time and instead is just known for Call Me Maybe. 

#4 lil hero

Big thanks to whoever recommended her on a bulletin on here. I don't remember who it was but if it was you and you're reading this: You have great taste. I listened to her and absolutely loved it. My favorites are Gun Show and Fasho Fashizzy. 

#3 Tove Lo

She's moved up the list from last month. She was #8 before I think. It's because she released the extended cut of her last album Dirt Femme which has had me listening to it again. 

#2 Taylor Swift

Holding strong at number 2! Same as last month and expect her to go up to number 1 once 1989 TV comes out. 1989 is one of my favorite albums OF ALL TIME. I'm so psyched man. 

#1 Girls Generation

Of course snsd made it to number 1. I've been listening through their whole discography and ranking the songs on my TikTok. I've discovered some great songs through this. For example, Boyfriend has become my new hot girl walk song. I feel so cute and powerful strutting to that song.
