Soo... I just gave myself a sick purple hairdye but screwed it up by shampooing it (will re-do tomorrow) . I am thinking of getting manic panic soon but just to be sure before i buy it. How many showers did manic panic last for you before fading out? How many showers did directions last for you before fading out?

I've never specifically used Manic Panic but the general consensus I see from ppl is that it can last anywhere between 3-6 weeks depending on how you treat your hair and the quality of your hair products. If you tend to wash your hair frequently, use cheap products, and/or wash with hot water I'd recommend finding a pigmented shampoo that matches your color so every wash is a minor touch up. I think pigmented conditioner is also a thing so getting both probably helps. I don't think it's a strong dye tho so they won't really touch up your hair in the same way a direct dye like Manic Panic will it just helps prolong the fading. You could also look for hair products specifically marketed for color protection or at the very least always check that your hair products are paraben-free and sulfate-free.
Also extra mention, I always used to use Arctic Fox, washed around 2 or 3 times a month, hot water (refuse to take cold showers lol), no pigmented products but always color protecting products. If the color I used was pastel it'd last a little over a month before fading but if it was a deep color it lasted foreverrrrrr. I had red in my hair for like over half the school year at one point without fading and I only touched up the roots. Arctic Fox is also generally really good about not bleeding but some colors are inevitable (esp if you wash with hot water).
