Tac’d Out: A new way to do equal stat Vs Battles

Tac’d Out

Evaluating fighters without settling for stat equated sameness.

Evaluation:

Step one in the TO system is an evaluation of stats. This isn’t necessarily a power scaling, but a comparison between each character and the relevant tiers in their verse.

The Evaluation is on a 1-4 scale:

  1. Extremely lacking in the stat being evaluated

  2. Below average in the stat being evaluated

  3. Average in the stat being evaluated

  4. Noticeably above average in the stat being evaluated

Stats:

Included stats are dependent on the people discussing the topic. Speed, durability, power, intelligence, and character are a good baseline in my opinion.

Power Ups:

As a precaution, power ups should be equated to the 1-4 system, with an allowance to break through the 4 ceiling.

You could also make the case that many multipliers are only multipliers when introduced, acting more as an additive and way to edge ahead when competition is close.

An example of this: Goku’s Kaio-ken being a 20x to physical prowess would place his strength/speed at 4(20) if in a situation where Kaio-ken is discussed. Some may call this more of a thick additive that looks more like a +2 to stats.

Special Properties:

This is a space for noting abilities and hacks that may transcend a power equated fight. This may be abilities that defy stats, such as moves that ignore opponent durability or elevate understanding of the fiction, such as writer level tiering.

Setting:

A big part of tactical fights is adaptation to the environment. Because of this, picking interesting battlefields should be part of the OT process. It may also be advantageous to run fight simulations in multiple environments, as upper hands are extremely common.

Example: Itachi Uchiha

Sasuke’s genius older brother. Itachi is easily in the top ninety-nine percentiles in his verse, easily putting him in a spot above the 5 Kage and below the God of Shinobi. Without attempting to place him among his competition, I see Itachi as a good match for Guy using his 8 Gates, Pre-War Bee, Initial Sage Naruto, and the Paths of Pain.

Evaluation:

Speed: 3; Itachi is notably capable in physical prowess but doesn’t seem to excel in his tier.

Durability: 2; Itachi is way more evasive than tanky.

Power: 2; Physical strikes seem to be set aside in his moveset.

Intelligence: 4; Itachi is very notable for his wisdom and strategy.

Character: 1, in terms of deadliness in mindset; This character isn’t very willing to kill but will if he needs to.

Power Ups:

Itachi gains a benefit from the Mangekyo, which I attribute to a power, speed and perception additive that is a 2 compared to his tier of power.

He also gains a durability and power benefit from the Susanoo, which I would attribute to a 6, and a negative 2 to the speed stat.

Special Abilities:

Susanoo Weapons: With a power up, Itachi can “block anything” and “kill anything” with wielded ethereal weapons.

Tsuykiomi: With a power up, Itachi can emotionally torment and possibly one shot anyone that looks him in the eye and can’t break near-instant illusions.

Amaterasu: With a power up, Itachi can deliver massive burn damage at high speed, cliffing past his power and speed stat.

Settings:

Positive: Itachi would excel in an area with a lot of cover, specifically a forest, as he is familiar with those surroundings.

Negative: Itachi would not see much benefit from an arena, and especially an open but narrow space.
