Update!! I got a cat yesterday!! Went to a shelter that had waived adoption fees for the weekend, and from their website I had narrowed down my search to two of their cats, one of which was named Cowboy. And despite the person at the shelter really trying to sell me on the other contender, I was really captivated by Cowboy and was excited to take him home!!
Was a pretty painless process since there were no fees, no outstanding medical issues, and since I had said I have ample experience adopting and fostering. They were also super packed because, again, no fees, so they are like "you know cat? excellent. take cat."
So far, Cowboy is both kind of smart, but kind of stupid, as well as kind of sweet but kind of evil. He is a man of many multitudes.
BUT who cares about all of that, I know what you're all here for, pics!
Don't worry, I'm sure this is not the last you'll see of this little Cowboy. But for now, that's what I got for ya! Bye!

this cat looks like he'd comfort my sorrows by making me the best sandwich ever. Also like he'd be the tallest guy at every party if human. sorry these are the vibes and also i love him
