I got into the program I wanted! Hooray! I'm not as excited as I should be though because the announcement was sent later than expected. One of the people who interviewed me actually is one of my classmates, but I won't chew him out since that could mean me getting kicked out of the program before it even starts lol Though, thankfully, my interview went well, obviously.
The searing heatwave that I've been experiencing in my location seems to be dying down, which is good. And by dying down, I mean we're supposed to be getting highs in the 80s and lows in the high 60s. Now this doesn't mean the oppressive heat is going away for good, in fact it will likely return many times.
Today, my 8am class was cancelled due to medical reasons on the behalf of the professor. That brings me to another thing: sickness. The pandemic turned me into an enormous germaphobe. Whenever I hear someone coughing (especially someone with a really bad cough) I can feel the cortisol flowing into my bloodstream. I asked my mom to get some masks, so hopefully they'll be on the way. I find it so weird that sickness is spreading so quickly despite the fact that it isn't cold. Though I know it has to do with everyone packing into lecture halls and being exposed to lots of people.
Speaking of ordering things, I am already putting together my Halloween costume. I'm going as (a yassified) Steve from Blue's Clues! I ordered the skirt and leg warmers this past weekend, and they're supposed to get here Friday. Though I'm glad that my package will get here fast, it concerns me that some unethical practices may be occurring. Next up, I'll be buying the shirt in September. Also on my unnecessary shopping list is a Tally Hall Youtooz! I kinda hate Youtooz but I love Tally Hall, so I'm willing to pay about $40 for one of those cute little things. I had trouble deciding between Rob Cantor and Andrew Horowitz, but the coins have spoken: Rob Cantor it is! The plushes go on sale September 8th, and I don't know if this sale will be a preorder, so who knows how long it will be?
Lastly, last week was a little rough on the edges, being the first full week of classes. I think I was just doing too much event-wise. I'd finish with classes and then go straight to events sometimes. I've pared down my schedule a little bit, so hopefully I can be a bit more relaxed and also hopefully get more work done during the weekdays instead of on the weekend. It feels so weird though. There's so much to do during the weekdays but nothing happens on the weekends. This coming weekend is Labor Day weekend. Because of the nature of college, we don't get many breaks, but I shouldn't complain, we get at least one break a month (save for August and December since they're not full months). Here's to a good week.
Tchau,
