movie review: in the name of the father (1993)

hey everyone!! how are you??

yesterday i watched a movie called "in the name of the father".

it's a true story about a man from belfast called gerry conlon who gets arrested by the british police for a bombing that he didn't commit, and the 15 years he spent in prison for it.

it's such a good film i literally didn't take my eyes off the screen the whole time. it was so interesting and it was really sad. i almost cried during one part but i didn't bc i was watching it w my parents and i find it embarrasing to cry at films in front of other ppl (T u T).

i really recommend this film, it really teaches you about the political climate during the troubles, and how savagely and disgustingly irish people were being treated by the british police + government at the time. the things done to gerry and the guildford four are actually toned down in the film compared to what the police did to them in real life.

it deals with a subject very close to my heart, as i am an irish person who is really interested in irish history.

my brother (who is actually the one who turned on this film for me to watch) said i should watch the film "maze (2017)" about the escape of 38 IRA prisoners in 1983. i think that's gonna be the next film on my watchlist.

what about you? have you seen this film? did you enjoy it?

please tell me your favourite films in the comments!
