Scenecore vs Scene/Scenemo

I feel like way too many people confuse scenecore and scenemo fashion styles and it lowkey upsets me as someone who's been scene for like over a decade now lmao

"Scenecore" fashion style is more commonly recognised as like the "2020 alt era" on tiktok, with the veye straining bright neon colors, the bunny hats, ridiculously short solid-colored hair, anime (specifically danganronpa) t-shirts and other assorted merch, the e-girl makeup, monster energy cans, the entire hot topic store as their wardrobe, the lines on their nose and so on.

Scenemo/Scene fashion, fun colours, cheetah print/racoon striped hair, fringe hair, character baseball caps, shutter glasses, cartoon t-shirts, domo and invader zim shirts and merch, classic scene/emo makeup (the raccoon eyeshadow, big lashes for girls etc), character plush bags, etc etc

there's a difference between the fashion, aesthetic, interests, music and so much more and like it makes me so upset when people think scenecore = scene, like scenecore was a failed attempt at reviving scene fashion and trying to make it popular again by changing it compeltely to be more modern

no hate whatsoever to scenecore people i just myself don't like the subculture as i see it as like "a fake scene"
