Okay, so, I've played both versions of Resident Evil 4. I love both of them alot for different reasons. But I have an opinion that I'm pretty sure is not shared by many people.
I prefer the original Ashley to the remake Ashley.
Now, let me explain. I don't hate Ashley in the remake, in fact, I love her; in both the original and the remake, Ashley is my favourite character in the games- hell, she's my favourite in the WHOLE FRANCHISE! She is 1st in my top five favourites, so I genuinley love her.
But compared to the original? Ashley just... she's not her, if that makes sense. Her personality in the original is why I liked her, she was genuinley a good character that was, honestly, really cool. She was nice but it wasn't because she was a demure, sweet girl (hell, when she meets Luis for the first time in the OG she calls him out for commenting on her body and being kinda creepy.)
She's strong-willed and confident in herself and (excluding that FUCKING CORRIDOR OH MY GOD-) she's pretty smart too. Plus, her friendship with Leon is awesome in the OG.
I do prefer Ashleys design in the Remake, don't get me wrong, but Ashleys design in the original is honestly really damn iconic and cute. I honestly wish they didn't hide her cute ass dumbo ears, because they were cute and I like them :P
It makes sense why they changed her personality, as the whole vibe of the game is more serious than the original. Hell, Ashleys personality isn't the only one that's different between the two games; however Ashley is one of the characters that I prefer in the Original compared to the Remake.
Ashley is amazing in both games, and there are some things I prefer in the remake, but I do prefer Ashley in the original. This it just my opinion though, so that's just how it is!
Thanks for reading, see ya :D
