"The Blue Room" by Ms. Jansen

currently so obsessed with this art collection. everything about it speaks to me. I keep going back to it. it feel so inviting and natural, but also leaves me with a heavy feeling that i have yet to idenitfy. This image in particular evokes something that feel sticky and damp, something that cover my body and holds me down. Not with force, it isn't that kind of unsettling.

The kitchen and the bathroom also feel a bit sticky, but in a more pleasant sort of way

all in all, this art collection makes me think of death, from the perspective of the love ones left behind. Moving around in that space that your lost one called home. Its clamy and warm at the same time. It reminds me of when I lost my grandpa and visited his partner at thier home. It did not feel empty. It feelt like he was there, like he was about to walk past me and smile while walking towards the kitchen, and then he just, didnt. But he would, any moment now. I get the same feeling looking at these images. I expect to see a figure, a puppet of some sort, moving across the space, in a kind of stopmotion style. it does not feel abandoned. it does not feel left behind. it feels like waiting.

In the first work I see the image of a girl lying down with seams and deformities as though her likeness was perfectly painted and sewn together on different tea towels or something. A quilt of sorts. Perhaps the work of a mother who wanted to keep (the image of?) her daughter?

I see what you mean with the bathroom and kitchen. They're shot in such a way that feels like the behind the scenes of some television set.

Yeah, I also feel a daughter mother feeling from the image. It's fun that you also say something related to missing/losing a loved one, even tho it's for a different image. And thank you pointing out the film/tv set thing! I got the same kinda vibe :)
