Chevrotains are really cool and I hope people know what they are.

 

It's this thang.

 The chevrotain, also known as the mouse-deer, is a small creature only about the size of say, a small dog. [Think Jack-Russel Terrier.] Chevrotains are also, the smallest hoofed animal in the world because of this. 

Though they're called "mouse-deer" they're more closely related to things such as antelopes, pigs, and hippos.

There are ten different species of chevrotain, and we're going to focus on the Water Chevrotain. Alike to hippos, the water chevrotain can stay underwater for about four whole minutes! They use this to evade predators, hiding under the water, and coming up for air at a safe distance.

 They are a nocturnal species, and forage for food a night, while in the day, it hides away in bushes. While most chevrotains feed on things such as figs, nuts, or fruit, [and the majority of it's diet does make up of this!] the water chevrotain also feeds on crustaceans, meat, and fish. This is the only one known to do this.

 Chevrotains are a solitary species, not really interacting with each other unless for territory or to mate. They fight by charging at each other, baring their fangs. Now you might ask now, "Wait, fangs?" Yes! Chevrotains have fangs! I find it incredibly cute.

 

 I think the most happiest I've been is when I decided to get into Kemono Friends, trying out specifically Kemono Friends: Kingdom. I had opened up the game, definitely expecting cute things, but to my surprise, one of the first characters you meet is a chevrotain! Based on the facts given, she is based off one of the chevrotains that can go underwater. I quite like her, the characterization is good for the animal that she is, and her shy personality is cute and never gets too overbearing.
