Man, I'm so tired.
I haven't posted in a while simply because I have not had the time to. Things have come, one after the other.
Monday, I went to a black organization meeting, where there was a fun battle between the sexes. It was fun, although people argued a lot. Tuesday, I went to a craft meeting, which was thankfully short. Wednesday, I did my laundry, got some waffles, did my lab, and then went to a silent disco (my first one ever). It was fun, though I wish I had engaged in it more. Today I picked out some more clothes for my interview tomorrow and went to another introductory meeting. I'm likely going to have to alternate between these clubs and orgs though, especially considering my courseload.
My main source of stress right now is my interview. I don't really have business professional attire and am doing my best with what I have. The code asks for polished dress shoes, but I don't have those and couldn't find any. It's hard to know if I should worry about my attire, as I don't know if they will judge my clothing harshly. It's funny, though. The interview is only 15 minutes long. I'm stressed out over 15 minutes of my life. Anyway, here are some statements to think about before and after my interview.
This is my first interview, so I shouldn't expect to get the position.
Mistakes will be made and that is okay because I will learn from them.
It is within my power to do this. Even if I don't do well, it's still possible.
The interview does not define me.
The world will not change because of this interview, regardless of the outcome.
You are loved and accepted, no matter if you get the position or not.
Don't think about the interview after you finish, don't let the thoughts consume you, as they will make things worse as you wait for results.
Boa noite,
