my very ramble-y thoughts about being in a band

I sometimes think that i would want to be in a band, but the thing is I have zero idea how to write melodies and such. I could probably help write lyrics and be decently good at that, and I could sing. I'm trained in voice and actually good at singing :3 I have good vocal control and I love to sing! But writing music itself would be tricky for me. I am a visual artist and that is my creative media. I like pouring all my ideas into my art. And something I like about making art is in the end you can see it and touch it, which you can't really do with music. However, I of course know that music can sound great and hit so hard!! I have never had a deep personal thought and went "hm let me make poetry/lyrics about this" instead I'd go make an illustration or a painting. But I love to sing!! 

And another thing about being in a band is performing. I would love to perform. I did theatre in high school and I always loved how when you're on stage you get to be big and silly and exaggerated and behave in a way you can't in day-to-day life. And performing is an art form too; performers singlehandedly have the power to evoke feelings into their viewers with their mere presence, let alone their skill. I see a 10 second video of Taylor Swift and I'm reeling, i see her in person??? I'm EXPLODING. Imagine being the person responsible for those kinds of strong feelings in others!! And i would get to wear slay sparkly fun outfits and empower myself too. And I'd get to move around and just have fun, I think I would like it :) 

Being in a band is really just a daydream of mine, I am not longing to be a lead singer immediately or anything, but, I don't know, I used to do so many voice classes and I worked so hard training my voice and singing in front of people and I kinda miss it. I stopped singing for others when I started art school, but I sing to myself alllll the time, especially when I'm driving hehe. If an opportunity to sing came up... I think I'd take it. Maybe :) I think I'd be good at performing. Just something I think about.
