Report Blog Entry
So my 1st day of senior year was supposed to be yesterday on Monday, 8/21/2023, but due to the tropical storm, it was pushed back to today, Tuesday, 8/22/2023. I woke up, straightened my hair, got dressed, put my makeup on, and headed to school. Upon arriving at school, I got a paper copy of my class schedule and talked with 1 of my friends in the cafeteria before heading to class. Here's how my classes and lunch went (my school is on an alternating odd/even 8 period block schedule this school year):
1st period (US Government): I arrived a few minutes fashionably late to my 1st period class this morning and proceeded to pay attention and write my name and other important information on the class syllabus.
3rd period (psychology): After the bell rang after 1st period, I met up with another one of my friends and we proceeded to walk to class with each other. The teacher lectured us about what we would be doing for his class and how it's a college prep class. He also explained that the lessons will be stretched out as it's supposed to be a 1 semester long course, but my school decided to make it a year long course for whatever reason. It was also when I decided to start drinking the Pipeline Punch Monster I brought to school with me today. Additionally, my teacher explained that there won't be any homework for his class.
Lunch: At lunch, I met up with even more friends and we talked about how this will be our last year at the school for 3 of us (including myself).
5th period (media design): When lunch was over, I walked up the stairs of the main building and turned left to get to my media design class. My teacher explained that we will be using Photoshop, won't have any homework for his class either, and will even be able to design our own t-shirts and websites at some point. I'm hoping I can create something skeuomorphic in his class.
7th period (Spanish 2): My last class of the day was Spanish 2. My teacher gave us an "all about me" worksheet and word search, then we had to go outside and do an icebreaker activity where we all tried to find a student with certain characteristics (including finding a student in that class who is 17 or 18 like myself). Then we turned in the assignments at the end of class right before the final bell rang.
After school, I did some last minute back to school shopping (mostly for US Government) at Target before I arrived home. Tomorrow, I will be attending my 2nd, 4th, 6th, and 8th period classes (which are AP English Literature, Ethnic Studies, Music Appreciation, and Journalism).
Also, unlike a few previous school years, I don't feel like a walking,breathing, exhausted zombie at the moment and actually have the energy and motivation to do shit. Let's hope I don't relapse and go through that absolute hell again anytime soon.

"college prep" is just teacher bullshit for "i can do whatever i want", but no homework fucking rules. also you GOTTA teach me what skeumorphic means
It's kind of hard to explain, but skeuomorphism is basically when you make a digital object resemble something you'd see in real life. The design also involves a lot of 3D elements such as gradients, shadows, and light bubbles for instance.
Windows 7's Aero Glass Theme is a great example of skeuomorphism:
