🎮Final Fantasy 13 Review Part 1🎮

Ok so honestly I had to play this game because I'm a huge Final Fantasy fan and this particular entry gets a lot of hate and I wanted to see for myself if it was all true or not. Even my fiancé said it wasn't that good 
I'm a collector at heart though and I couldn't pass them up when I found both FF13 and FF13-2 at comic-con for 10 bucks a piece!
So I've played the game for about a week and so far I see why so many people do take issue with this game but it does have a few redeeming quality's!

Lets start with the criticisms first.
1. The characters do feel a bit thrown together and honestly unbearable at times. Lightning is really giving extra edgy Cloud energy just not as well written or explained so far. 
2. The game is very linear like Final Fantasy 10 but I honestly don't find this to be a bad thing its just up to you weather or not that's you like this very structured gameplay.
3. The world is honestly giving this futuristic yet also dilapidated feel that's very reminiscent of FF7 its kind of like they tried to take inspiration from FF10 and FF7 for FF13 and idk its kind of a weird effect.
4. What the fuck is going on. I mean really, I kind of get it but at the same time I really don't because there is so much happening story wise that is not elaborated on or explained and yet they talk about things as if they're already established and we should know about them but I just feel lost and I'm hoping the deeper parts of the story could explain some things for me but over all I'm just twisting my brain into knots thinking about it.. 

Ok so I feel like that's all I have so far as for criticism which is kind of a lot when you think about the grand scope of things and I have been playing for a short while.

The positives!
1. I do feel like the structured gameplay gives you the feeling that you are constantly progressing through the game and the story which is more than I can say for FF15.. Sheesh.. but that aside the fluidity of the game feels nice for those that like to feel like they're constantly progressing in a game.
2. The world is absolutely gorgeous. They must have really had high hopes for this game because visually I would say it holds up today!
3. The soundtrack is also incredible its one of the better soundtracks aside from 10 and 7 imo.
4. The gameplay is a half positive but ill explain why. The battle system is really fluid and if you keep selecting the automatic button it will always work out in your favor and is basically a glorified auto pilot. This is good for those that don't like to spend too long on battles especially sense it can become repetitive but honestly makes the option to select individual attacks feel kind of useless. Like what's the point if I can just click the first button that automatically picks the best move and uses it for me. 

Over all I think this is one of those Final Fantasy games that could only appeal to hardcore fans of the series. I mean I couldn't imagine someone unfamiliar with the series starting their FF adventure with FF13 and thinking it was good.
I do think hardcore fans could find some enjoyment in it though. 
Also I haven't even touched it yet but I high hopes that FF13-2 will be better as well so I look forward to playing it after I finish 13 and hopefully ill drop in to talk about this more when I finish the game entirely!
