DnD Rants and Raves (and a request for games!)

Hi hi! o/

So, I've been playing DnD on-and-off since middle school or so (I know, and I do get a lot of bitches before you ask hahahaha), and while I adore the game, my main issue is with the difficulty of planning sessions and the slow-paced action at points. Yes, maybe that is the fault of the DM or just the nature of people playing, but I have played with multiple DnD groups over the years and it has just remained the same! 

Maybe there is stuff to be said about the fact that I went to an International school, and so my in-person friends were akin to a rotating door, or that my friend group got scattered across the timezones as they all slowly moved away, but that doesn't negate my want to play!! I'd love to properly get into it (plus I have all this dice and nothing to use it for, sigh).
