Daily film rec #7: Akira

Synopsis: A secret military project endangers Neo-Tokyo when it turns a biker gang member into a rampaging psychic psychopath that only two teenagers and a group of psychics can stop.

Review: Another animated movie that is absolutely iconic. This was made in the 80s and somehow has the best animation I have seen in any film. Everything is moving, everything is clearly detailled and looks alive. I have rarely been more impressed. The cyberpunk world Akira takes place in is gorgeous to look at but looks like hell to live in. Your mind is immediately transported in this universe and you don't get bored a second with all of the action, spaceships, violence and vibrant characters. Speaking of this, the character and outfits design is perfect like everything else.

If you haven't seen it I can't recommend it enough, it's a true once in life experience !
