Lately I've been wanting to get into the culture and music of punk. It intrigues me but I'm not sure where to start. Can anyone whose really into it help me? I'll take any music recommendations and any resources I can get for researching into punk culture so I can understand it better. It seems kinda complex.

my dad was superrr into punk. he's the most punk person I know tbh. His favorite punk band is The Clash but he also likes Ramones, you should also check out Joan Jett. Also, there's a feminist movement within the punk community called Riot Grrrl which began in the early 1990s because of sexism in the punk community. ALSO, keep in mind that majority of alt movements were started by POC and women. If you want to be punk or alt in general you HAVE to be open-minded as well as support fellow POC, women and LGBTQAI+ individuals. Even if you like the music if you don't support the views you can't consider yourself punk. But yeah!! Thats a general rundown. Totes hmu if u want! I'd love to be ur friend n talk more abt this!
Thank you so much!!! Riot GRRL music is actually what got me curious about it in the first place :D It's so cool and strangely relateable even though I'm a trans guy. I'll definitely check out the bands you mentioned your father is into! I think it's rlly cool your father is into it btw. And I'd love to talk mroe about this if you're willing!!
