Modded Gameboy Color

I have a modded Gameboy Color my fiance and I built together. It is probably one my most prized possessions at this point. We replaced the plastic screen with tempered glass, threw in an IPS LCD screen (so it is now backlit, my eyes appreciate it. There is also a touch sensor so I can adjust the brightness by touching the IR sensor), changed the shell and the buttons (it now looks like baja blast and it glows in the dark :D) and the little LED power light is now pink. This was definitely a fun project BUT it is very delicate; we accidentally broke an IPS LCD screen in the process when we first tried to mod it.

At the time we didn't know the USB-C charging mod was a thing, so I've been using batteries... however, because of the new screen, it just devours them. After looking it up, it seems like Eneloop rechargeable batteries are a pretty good option, so I'm going to try those. It makes me feel better than having to replace the batteries every few hours anyway ^^ . At the end of the day, I liked that I could give this Gameboy a new life and I have spent hours playing Pokemon Pinball.
